|The lecture halls of the Peter and Paul Fortress will host a lecture by Elizabeth Trubkin "Winter Palace: residential rooms of the imperial family on February 19.|
Imperial residence is traditionally divided into zones each of which fulfilled its function.
The "heart" of the palace was the part where the royal family lived, which was served by hundreds of people, located in economic and service premises. Personal, living rooms of the imperial family were kind of flats, which were called "halves".
